About
I've always loved people and their stories - and I've always loved words.
I recently left a long career in education, having worked in primary schools and at university. It's been a wonderfully people-centred career, full of communication, conversation, and connection. Most of all, my career has taught me how important it is really to listen - to notice what matters to people and to help them find the words to express it.
Language has always fascinated me. I love the way the right words enable us to capture a feeling, bring back a memory, or say something we've struggled to put into words ourselves. As a celebrant, I have the lovely privilege of listening to people's stories and weaving those words into ceremonies that feel warm, meaningful and completely personal.
I'm also a yoga teacher, and that part of my life brings something important to my work too: a sense of calm, presence and openness. I believe there's something special about giving people the time and space to feel heard.
For me, being a celebrant is about connection. It's about sitting down together, having a conversation, sharing stories, and discovering what makes your ceremony feel just right - all to honour your loved one who has died.
Together, we'll find the right words.
